A silver and gold plated desk calendar adorned with a fine casting of a horse head. This wonderful and exceptionally rare equestrian themed desk accessory is from this 'horse head', 'Tête de Cheval', series from the luxury French atelier, of which they introduced a large variety of items for the home and person. There is a simple and elegant frame which sits next to the detailed head of the horse. This horse head, as it rears forward, can be used to wrap a finger around in order to aid the carrying of the piece, if so required. The days of the month are printed in a beautiful font onto glossy finished soft square pieces of card. Some are double sided, but not all. Each one is complete, and in excellent original condition.
The calendar is signed "Hermès Paris" on the base, along with the maker mark for Ravinet D'Enfert. D'Enfert made the majority of the larger homeware pieces for Hermès in the mid to late part of the 20th Century. The item is presented in superb, original condition, and are of the quality and beauty one would come to expect. Made in France, circa 1970's.
